Taking a Break!

Jonathan had a short break from school this month.  He finished his summer anatomy course on August 2nd and did well.  He is now a tutor and teacher's assistant for anatomy this term.  The following week was full of orientation activities (most of which, family could not attend), including the White Coat Ceremony (family was of course invited to this event).  Many professional schools (including medical, dental, optometry, and pharmacy schools, etc.) have a tradition to hold a ceremony before they embark on the adventure to become a doctor.  The students are "robed" in their white coats and the Hippocratic Oath is read.  It felt very much like a graduation - if only!  I felt so proud of Jonathan.  After a week of orientation, we finally got to be with Jonathan!  Here are some pictures from our little break:

We spent one day in Medford and Jacob got to meet Jabari Parker  at a basketball camp!

We took a trip up to Portland with my mom and Turner after orientation activities one day.  This picture was taken inside the USS Blueback Submarine at OMSI.

The highlight of our trip South was hanging out with family in Bandon. Our cousin got baptized and we got to relax in our Aunt and Uncle's beach house with Jonathan's brother, Caleb.  Thanks Kim and Fred for letting us hang out with you!
