It is another beautiful fall day in Rexburg, Idaho. Jacob is down for a nap (which will probably be the situation every time I update our blog) and I just viewed a blog for a close friend of mine and thought that this would be a fun thing to do and a great way to update friends and family that are far away from here.
Today is a pretty typical day for the Wright family. Jonathan got up early and was off to school by seven. He has a histology (tissues) test closing tomorrow and both an organic chemistry and genetics tests next week. Needless to say, he won't be doing much for his birthday tomorrow. Jacob and I spend the day with typical mother son tasks. I wake up to him letting me know he is up and ready to eat. He eats, I change his diaper and clothes, we play for about an hour and then he is down for his first nap. I then snag this opportunity to shower, eat breakfast, and get ready for the day. If I can do all that before he wakes up then I am on a roll! Jacob is usually awake by this time and we play until he gets hungry again. I then feed him, change his diaper, and then put him in his play gym while I do some chores around the house. He will then let me know he is ready for a nap (any mom knows how this works - he gets cranky :) ). This is the time we usually go for a walk because he loves to sleep in his stroller. At night he has his bath around 7:30, we read a story a couple of times, I feed him, and then he is down for the count. Well, he is down until he wakes up at 2:00 A.M. letting me know he is hungry. And so this is how my day goes. Every now and then we have something different like a doctor's appointment or a trip to the library. And Jacob always knows how to make things different like spitting up all over me, the couch, and him :) . I must say though that I love being a mom. I love being able to watch him explore this new world. For example, I forget how exciting hands are until I see Jacob stare at them for 15 minutes or so. I love to see him smile and wiggle with joy when he sees me in the morning. He is so wonderful and such a blessing for our new little family.
