April 19th, 2009

We are moved in!!! Well, we have been moved in for about 2 months now, I have just been too busy to blog about it. We love our home. Jacob loves our home. There is so much more room for him to run! He loves the yard. I love the yard. After years of pulling weeds as a child (and not exactly loving it), I now love going out and working on the yard. There always seems to be a project and the fresh air calls to me. The yard had some basic landscaping (and a sprinkler system) to begin with, we just need to spruce it up. I have made some mistakes, but it is coming along. For example, we have a cobblestone back patio that attracts these massive weeds. So, I geared up with my sprayer and poison and attacked. The weeds are gone, the unfortunate incident is that it was windy that day, and I killed some grass along the edges of the patio. Now I know for next time!

I have been busy painting the inside as well. Yes, it is challenging with Jacob, but somehow I manage. Did I mention I am painting the entire interior? Sorry to those that want to see the interior, but I want to post pictures after I am done. If you want to see it sooner, we have a guest room!
Jacob is growing like crazy right now and talking a lot as well. He understands a lot and can (or tries) to say just about any word. He loves the new ward we are in because there are lots of kids his age. There is even have one boy who is 20 days older and lives just down the street. Jacob and I enjoy going to our neighborhood park with him and his mother. I am also enjoying the ward as well. There are not only many young stay at home moms, but they are super friendly as well. I finally feel like I have a social life again!!!!! Like any stay at home mom knows, it can be difficult to make friends in a new area; especially when your child hasn't started school yet. It has been nice to go to lunch, the park, and workout together.....with people who can relate!

Jonathan's job is going well, which is a huge relief for us. His boss loves him and the company is doing fine. I say this because some people have asked about his job considering the economic situation in this country.
Jonathan and I teach primary together (the five and six year olds) and love it. Jonathan also teaches missionary preparation for the stake and I am a leader over the YCL's for this years girls camp in August.

Along with the house, I stay busy working out, and of course Jacob keeps me busy as well. I ran in this years pear blossom festival last weekend - the 5K! It was fun and has gotten me excited about running further....at least a 10 miler. I don't know if I am up for the craziness involved in a marathon, right now that just seems insane to me....26 miles at once? We'll see.

I am also taking intermediate conversation spanish at the local college with my mother-in-law. La clase es muy buena!
Sorry it took so long to update ya'll!!!! Here are some new pictures:

Jacob is quite the driver. He loves to sneak into the garage and get into the car.

He has locked himself in the car once (luckily, the window was partially down and I had a hanger). He has also left the lights on. It is nice to think you are going to the store, get Jacob in the carseat and....you know the rest.

Jacob is a big helper in the yard.

This is a view from the top of Table Rock. Jonathan, Jacob, and I hiked it one Saturday morning. Jacob did well at riding on top of Daddy's shoulders.

Good question - I don't know who that guy is in the background.

Like father like son.

Daddy is so funny!

How does he get so dirty?

Congrats on the new house and being in a good new ward. Moving wards is so stressful!

Jacob is a DOLL, and I can't believe how big he is already!

What a good update! We are so anxious to see pictures of your new home. Maybe we'll have to take you up on that guest bedroom offer! I'm a little jealous that you were able to run a 5K! I was gearing up to do the mini triathlon around Rigby Lake next month but something came up ;-) So maybe next year!

We are so glad to have you guys in the ward. Little Spencer too loves his new primary teachers.
Jacob is the cutest little thing. He is ALWAYS happy. I love his sneakiness when it comes to the car.
Your little family is great.

I want to see the house after all the painting is done.

I can't wait to see it once you're all done painting. We will have to stop by each time we go through, it worked out really well last time. And one of these times we'll have to spend the night.
