Weaverville

 After our backpacking trip, we returned to town....just in time for some Fourth of July celebration!  Weaverville, California is known to have an excellent celebration - and it didn't disappoint.   We started off the day with a race, then went to the parade, and finished with the ice cream social.  We celebrated with fireworks the next day.  And, as if it couldn't get any better, we also spent time with cousins (including a trip on a small train) and relaxed by the river.  It was great to be back.  

Our sweaty selves after the Fourth of July run.  It was definitely the hardest run I had done up to that point.  The weather was warm and the course was FILLED with some crazy steep hills.  My mom ran 2 miles and I ran a little over 5.5 miles ( it is a small town run, we don't need exact distance :) ).

Jonathan is never one to just sit and relax.  Some people worked on building a dam to create a better swimming hole.  Claire was his big "helper".
