Happy Leap Day!!! Much has happened within the last month in the Wright family. With Jonathan, he is busy with his last semester of school and trying to find a job. He has been really looking into jobs in Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. He just submitted an application to a manager at a company called Forest (pharmaceutical sales) and he has also been speaking with a women who works in orthopedic sales. Personally, I don't see why anyone wouldn't want to hire Jonathan. Jonathan also fixed our Toyota last week. Our car wasn't running and so he replaced the distributor cap. Now our '88 Corolla works great. I am so proud. :)
With me, I just recently was called into the Relief Society Presidency at church. I was a little bummed to not be a teacher anymore, but I really, really am loving this calling (and I still get to teach this Sunday :) ). This has been keeping me pretty busy, along with my calling as a mother. I love being able to get to know the sisters better and having so many opportunities to serve them.
Jacob and I are anxiously waiting for spring so that we can get some fresh air. It is still pretty cold, but the snow is beginning to melt. Lately, Jacob has loved going to the grocery store. Now, he can sit in the seat in the cart and loves to flirt with the cashiers and look at all of the brightly colored food. Speaking of food, we are moving on to more solid food. This morning he tried feeding himself with the spoon. He will need some more practice, but the spoonful did go straight to his mouth, so I am proud. He is also getting much better at picking up food and putting it in his mouth. He knows that the food we eat is better than his pureed stuff. He can smell it and when he knows we are eating, he wants some too (even if he just ate).
Jacob is also a lot more mobile. Last Saturday he got up on his hands and knees and starting rocking! He does it more and more each day. I can't wait for him to crawl. He is learning so much each day! He looks for me when I am hiding under a blanket. He will also try to imitate the things I do. For example, he will watch me bang two plastic rings together and then he will pick up two and bang them together. He also just discovered his ears. It seems as if his hand all of a sudden came across his ear and he starting feeling it with a confused look on his face. It is as if he was thinking, "Is this attached to me?" It is so fun to be a mom.
I attached some videos so that y'all can see Jacob on all fours, him talking on the phone to his dad, as well as him giggling. I posted the phone one because he enjoys talking to his grandparents and aunts and uncles on the phone and this is what he looks like. Now, you guys can picture him when you talk to him on the phone!
